George and Katherine WheelerGeorge Wheeler came from England to Concord, Massachusetts about the year 1638 with his wife and several children. Their relationship to the other Wheelers in Concord is not proven. George Wheeler's name appears on the Concord records from the first year records were kept and every year thereafter until he died. Everything indicates that the George Wheelers were well-to-do, or even wealthy, when they arrived in Concord. This would imply that they had been able to stay in England long enough to dispose of their propery before their departure for the Colonies. Walcott, in his History of Concord, asserts that George Wheeler was one of the few men who "were foremost in the town's business by virtue of their large estates as well as their integrity and good judgment." A. G. Wheeler, Jr., in his The History of the Wheeler Family in America says that "George Wheeler was a man of education, and the owner of a large amount of property, his house lot alone consisting of eleven acres, while he possessed lands in every part of the town, at Brook Meadows, Fairhaven Meadow, the Cranefield, by Walden Goose Pond, Flint's Pond, on the White Pond Plain, on the Sudbury line, etc. He held as many positions of trust and was active in the direction of the town's affairs as any individual in Concord, serving at various times on substantially every committee of consequence, and leading in all matters of moment, as is evidenced by the fact that nearly every town deed and petition of any importance from either the Church or the civic community of that time bears his signature." Katherine Wheeler died before 28 January 1684/5 as she was not mentioned in her husband's will which was written on that day. George Wheeler's will was admitted to probate 7 June 1687. George and his wife Katherine Wheeler had eight children:

George Wheeler
Abigail (Hosmer) Wheeler was one of 27 persons of Concord (and one of 4 of our relatives) who died in the epidemic of "the very malignant and fatal distemper" which ran its course between 1 December 1717 and 20 February 1718. The only detail we have been able to find about George Wheeler is that he was mentioned in the will of Abigail (Smith) Wheeler (his second wife) as being a blacksmith. George and his first wife Abigail (Hosmer) Wheeler had eight children, all born in Concord:

A. G. Wheeler, Jr. states in his book, History of the Wheeler Family in America that James and Mary Wheeler lived at Concord and Bedford, MA, having been in that part of Concord which was included in Bedford when the latter was incorporated in 1729. Their older children were born in Concord and the younger children in Bedford, yet all were born on the same farm. The following paragraph was taken from An Account of Some of the Early Settlers of West Dunstable, Monson and Hollis, NH by Charles S. Spaulding (1915): "James Wheeler, Sr., son of George and Abigail Hosmer Wheeler, came from Bedford to West Dunstable NH with Mr. Colburn and others in the spring of 1738. He located about half a mile east of Patch Corner, at a place since known as the Benjamin Wheeler place. He became a prominent citizen in the new settlement. His name is the first name on a petition dated 13 May 1747, to the General Court of New Hampshire, asking for a scout to guard the inhabitants of Monson against Indian invasion. He served in the old French war in Capt. Peter Power's company for the Crown Point expedition of 1755, from April 24 to November 11. He became a large land holder." The above information from two different sources seems to be at odds with each other. Future research may be helpful here. James Wheeler left his homestead to his son, Thaddeus. Mary, his wife, was living at the close of the Revolution in 1783. James and his wife Mary (Minot) Wheeler had eight children:
