John Buck
John Buck came from Canterbury, England, to Scituate, Massachusetts on the ship Hercules in 1634. He was living on Walnut Tree Hill in Scituate by 1650. He succeeded Robert Stetson as "Cornet of the Troopers" and was constantly in military service during King Philip's War. John's brother, Lt. Isaac Buck, also lived in Scituate. John's will gave legacies "to dauther Chandler --- to Isaac Randall's children --- to John Garrett's children --- to all my children living at Yarmouth and Sandwich." Cornet John and his first wife Elizabeth (Holbrook) Sprague Buck had ten children, all born in Scituate:
