John and Mercy Booker

We do not know whether or not John Booker was our immigrant ancestor, nor do we know much about him. We know that his wife's name was Mercy, and they lived in Boston, Massachusetts.

John and his wife Mercy Booker had seven children, all born probably in Boston, MA:

  • Mercy, b. 26 Feb. 1686.
  • John, Jr., b. 18 Dec. 1688; m. (1) Hester Adams, daughter of Thomas Adams; m. (2) Ann Cowell.
  • Samuel, place and date of birth unknown; d. before 29 April 1713 when his estate was administered.
  • Sarah, place and date of birth unknown; d. 26 Aug. 1693.
  • Jacob, b. 3 Sept. 1694; m. Huldah Crawford, who married (2) Nicholas Belnap.
  • William, b. 24 Dec. 1695; m. Mary Conibel, who married (2) John Earle.
  • Grace, b. 3 Sept. 1699.

Died: probably in Boston before 1762 when his will was probated.
Parents: John and Mercy Booker.
First Wife:
Hester Adams		Born: probably in York, ME in 1686.
Died: in York, ME before 11 July 1759.
Father: Thomas Adams.
Mother: Hannah Parker.
Married: Place and date unknown.
Second Wife:
Ann Cowell		Married: 11 July 1759.
Ann was "of Boston." We have no other information.

John, Jr. and his first wife Hester (Adams) Booker had eight children, all born probably in York, ME:

  • Jacob, b. 3 Sept. 1713; died young.
  • John, b. 22 Feb. 1714 (?); m. 27 April 1736, Hannah Baker.
  • William, b. 13 April 1717; m. Dorcas Moore, daughter of Samuel Moore.
  • Jacob, b. 17 Oct. 1719; m. Mary Holt, daughter of Elder Joseph Holt.
  • Mercy, b. 1 Sept. 1721; m. (1) Amos Goudy (Gowdy), Sr.; m. (2) John Catland.
  • James, b. 18 Dec. 1723; m. Mercy Young, daughter of Benaiah Young.
  • Daniel, b. 4 April 1726; d. before 1758; m. Catherine Mayo.
  • Nicholas, b. 27 March 1728; m. Hannah Young, daughter of Benaiah Young.
